Calvert Street also manages a separate mezzanine fund that provides subordinated debt and non-control equity in lower middle market businesses. The mezzanine fund does not invest in companies affiliated with Calvert Street’s equity funds.
Calvert Street raised its mezzanine fund in 2003. This fund, formed as a Small Business Investment Company, has invested over $140 million in 23 separate portfolio companies. Calvert Street’s mezzanine fund invests with other private equity sponsors in conjunction with an acquisition, recapitalization or expansion of a business.
This fund is actively supporting the existing investment portfolio but is not considering new portfolio company investments.
