Mezzanine Contacts

Andrew L. John  joined CSCP in 2001 to form the firm’s mezzanine capital group and, in addition to his private equity responsibilities, manages CSCP’s mezzanine fund (“LMMF”).  Prior to CSCP, Mr. John was a Senior Vice President at Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company, providing leveraged loans to lower middle market companies and also was a Team Leader in Corporate Finance at Tessco Technologies, Inc.  Mr. John spent 10 years in various management positions at predecessor banks to Bank of America, focusing on leveraged lending to lower middle market companies.  From 1984 through 1988, Mr. John worked in North America Corporate Finance at Chase Manhattan Bank.   He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Economics from Denison University.

Joseph W. Hasse joined the mezzanine team in 2008 and helps manage Calvert Street’s mezzanine fund.  He joined Calvert Street in 1998 and assisted in managing Calvert Street’s three private equity funds until focusing on the mezzanine business.  Prior to Calvert Street, Joe spent seven years with Ernst & Young where he worked in the Transaction Advisory Services and Entrepreneurial Services Groups, primarily serving private equity clients that targeted lower middle market companies. 


Sarah P. Cheplak joined Calvert Street in 2008 and helps manage Calvert Street’s equity funds as well as Calvert Street’s mezzanine fund. Prior to Calvert Street, Sarah spent two years as an Associate at CCMP Capital Advisors, a New York-based private equity partnership with $10 billion under management.  Prior to joining CCMP, she was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at UBS Investment Bank.
